Hey Steve,

Why don't you stop the self promotion and work on your comedy. Why do you care if you're the monthly number 1 on some second rate misogynistic jerk-off magazine? It seems as though you're a stand-up comedian, a type of person perhaps above the shallow star searching of celebrityhood, maybe you even call to attention the flaws of those so driven by the limelight. But, you are the saddest of the bunch. He in a glass house shall not throw stones. I hope you look into the mirror and cry. If you want, you can wittily respond to this email, and avoid real introspection, but take my words from someone who knows. You can't pretend to be something you're not unless all you want is that number one ranking in Stuff Magazine.

Are you really that naïve? Do you think I should be ashamed that I am successful? I write material I stand by, and I am damn proud when that material is recognized, be it by a member of my audience laughing or an article in a “second rate misogynistic jerk-off magazine.”

There is a common misconception that, in order for art to be true art, it must be completely underground. But accolades do not change the art I have put into this world. In fact, when an article comes out about my work, that is proof I succeeded in reaching people. I believe that a life is only important in the impact it has on other lives. You seem to want me to lead a much more selfish existence.

I spend my life being introspective – you, however, do not. You are the essence of a hypocrite. You fault me for being proud when my work is recognized, for a drive to be successful along with being creative. But let me ask you something, Anthony – how did you get the money to afford the computer you’re using? Because I would be downright shocked if you actually practice any of the bastardized Taoist philosophy you preach. Or have even heard of Lao Tzu. You say that he in glass houses should not throw stones. Well you just broke your own proverbial window.

And here’s an idea – stop being so concerned with how I create art and start making some your damned self.
